Introduction
Technicut, a precision engineering company in Sheffield, needed to refresh the floor in two adjoining production units ahead of installing new machinery. The concrete slab had been coated by Elgood Industrial Flooring more than nine years earlier and was still well bonded, but the surface required an upgrade to meet current presentation and performance expectations. Elgood was reappointed to refurbish 1,000 m² of floor using vacuum contained diamond grinding to etch the existing coating and apply a new solvent free epoxy finish in Slate Grey, all completed in a single four-day programme.
Background

Mechanical preparation
