3200 square metres installed in four phases comprised of two weekday and 2 weekend visits each of three days.
Being solvent free, our floorings have very little odour. This combined with vacuum contained preparation methods means we are able to install our floor coatings in occupied buildings minimizing disruption to production.
Contrasting colours including Slate Grey, French Blue, Light Green and Yellow were used to design a floor layout.
Tyco Valves had previously asked for budget prices a couple of years ago. In 2011 they proceeded with the refurbishment of the floor in their Market Harborough Distribution Centre.
Installation Programme: four phases including two weekday phases and two weekend phases to minimize Disruption to Order Picking. Our floorings have little odour and the clean dust free preparation meant that two phases could be installed whilst the facility was operational.
Flooring selected: Elgood Industrial Flooring’s Britdura 750 Highbuild Solvent Free Epoxy Coating in the colours, Slate Grey, French Blue, Light Green with various markings and text.

Needs
The concrete was generally in a satisfactory condition but had worn in the gangways.
The floor had an accumulation of floor paint which we removed using a combination of shot-blasting and diamond grinding.
This meant that a roller only application would not be sufficient. However, a flowed flooring would have been too expensive.
Instead, we offered our Britdura 750 which is a three coat trowel application. The trowel application ensures that an even distribution of resin is achieved. This is the long term will ensure that the floor lasts and wears more evenly than a roller application.
The Britdura 750 is a good cost effective alternative when a 1.5 – 2mm application too expensive or unnecessary.
Preparation
Dust free shot-blasting was used to provide a good clean physical key on the surface.
Floor
The Britdura 750 Highbuild Solvent Free Epoxy Coating which is applied by trowel to an average finished thickness of approximately 1 millimetre. The coating has a fine slip resistant finish and can be cleaned with ease using scrubber / dryer machines.
