Background
The client needed an industrial floor that could cope with repeated cleaning and everyday operational use without sacrificing appearance or practicality. Just as importantly, the floor layout already worked well for the site, so the new system had to follow and retain the established zoning rather than introduce a completely new arrangement.
The existing concrete floor was inconsistent in condition, ranging from worn sections to smoother areas. This meant the substrate needed a preparation method that could remove old coatings effectively while creating a sound, consistent base for the new epoxy system.

The Challenge
The project needed to address several practical requirements:

The Solution
Elgood Industrial Flooring specified and installed a complete Britdura 750 high-build solvent free epoxy flooring system tailored to the needs of Promotional Packaging Company Ltd.

Dust free shot-blasting was used to remove the layers of existing paint and provide a clean, well-prepared surface ready to receive the new industrial floor coating. This method also created the correct mechanical key for strong adhesion. - Localised remedial work
Isolated rough patches were repaired using a combination of diamond grinding and Elgood’s epoxy smoothing mortar. This helped to create a more even and consistent base before the coating was applied. - Britdura 750 high-build solvent free epoxy floor coating
The selected system was Elgood’s Britdura 750 high-build solvent free epoxy floor coating, applied by trowel to a finished thickness of approximately 1 mm. This provides a durable, hard-wearing industrial floor finish suited to practical day-to-day use. - Light Grey and Cherry Red floor layout
The coating was laid in Light Grey and Cherry Red, maintaining the existing layout while giving the floor a cleaner, more professional appearance. - Matching uprights and skirtings
The uprights and skirtings were painted using Elgood’s water-based floor paint to match the colours used in the floor layout, creating a more complete and coordinated finish. - Fine slip resistant finish
The completed floor has a fine slip resistant finish, making it safer underfoot while still being easy to clean using scrubber/dryer machines.
All works were completed by Elgood Industrial Flooring’s own in-house installation team, ensuring consistent workmanship and a single point of responsibility from preparation through to final finishing.
